I changed my old OS6350-24 switch by OS6360-24.
Total bootup time with 0S6350-24 was around 2 minutes (ie I must wait 2 minutes before the switch may commute traffic on its ports)
Same test with OS6360-24 (same configuration) gives around 4 minutes before I can commute traffic.
Switch configuration is very simple : less than 10 VLAN, port mirroring activated, MAC filtering on 2 ports.
Is there a reason why bootup time increase so much with OS6360-24 ? How can I reduce it ?
One more info from “OmniSwitch AOS Release 8 Switch Management Guide 8.7R2”
“An integrity check is run to verify the image files when the switch reboots during power-on or the reload command. The reload command has been enhanced to automatically invoke SHA256 checksum verification of AOS
image files before allowing the switch to reboot…” and effectively, in the bootup logs, I have integrity checks on several files 5 Mb, 93Mb,… How to disable it, if it’s the root cause ?

The only thing I can think of is disabling auto-fabric if you are not using it. However I did not test if this will decrease the boot time. I would not recommend disabling a checksum verification of AOS, even if I knew how to do this. In production, you rarely reboot a switch anyhow, unless it is planned maintenance. Patience is a virtue
