OS6560 Virtual Chassis Error

Hi, I'm encountering an error when configuring chassis IDs for a Virtual Chassis on my Alcatel Switch. I haven't yet connected the VF links. Can you guide me through the correct process?

Additional questions:

VF Link Automation: When using virtual-chassis auto-vf-link-port, does it eliminate the need for manual VF link creation? EMP IP Addresses: Are EMP IP addresses equivalent to management IP addresses?

PS. I am new to Alcatel switches. Thanks!

The 6560 switch does not have EMP port.

Please refer to the example below.

Master Switch>

-> show configuration vcm-snapshot chassis-id 1

! Virtual Chassis Manager:

virtual-chassis chassis-id 1 configured-chassis-id 1

virtual-chassis vf-link-mode auto

virtual-chassis auto-vf-link-port 1/1/27

virtual-chassis auto-vf-link-port 1/1/28

virtual-chassis chassis-id 1 chassis-group 100

How to add and delete VFL link

-> virtual-chassis auto-vf-link-port 1/1/29

-> virtual-chassis auto-vf-link-port 1/1/30

-> no virtual-chassis auto-vf-link-port 1/1/27

-> no virtual-chassis auto-vf-link-port 1/1/28

[chassis Group ID number change] –All switches Configured as VC must have the same group ID.

[Slave Switch]

-> virtual-chassis chassis-id 1 configured-chassis-id 2

-> virtual-chassis vf-link-mode auto

-> no virtual-chassis auto-vf-link-port 1/1/27

-> no virtual-chassis auto-vf-link-port 1/1/28

-> virtual-chassis auto-vf-link-port 1/1/29

-> virtual-chassis auto-vf-link-port 1/1/30

-> virtual-chassis chassis-group 100

-> write memory

When the switch starts rebooting, connect the stacking cable to the VFL port.

When the slave switch completes booting, enter the following command on the master switch.

->show configuration vcm-snapshot chassis-id 2

->show virtual-chassis topology

->show virtual-chassis consistency

->show virtual-chassis vf-link

->show virtual-chassis vf-link member-port

After checking the VC status using the above command, proceed with saving and synchronization using the following command.

->write memory flash-synchro
