Reset admin password

Hi,

Sorry for my poor english, I'm a froggy frenchy :) I've a customer who need to reset his OV2500 admin password to recover web access.

This is a virtual server (VMWare) and the linux kernel is 2.6.32-358.el6.x86_64. I don't know which is the OV2500 version and don't know where to find it.

I tried, according to another topic on another forum, to delete the "security" folder on /home/admin/omnivista/ov411/ov2500/data/tables and rebooted the server. Other precision, I don't stop OV2500 services before handling (I don't have access to the Virtual Appliance menu). After that, the web portal is broken and I don't access it. The "'security" folder isn't reconstructed after reboot.

So I have three questions : - is the process good to reset default admin password ? - is there a way to access Virtual Appliance Menu from ssh root login (to stop services before handling) ? - is there another way to rebuild the deleted folder if it's not good ?

Thanks a lot for your help :)

Another information : I don't have the cliadmin password :-/

Hi,

I would strongly suggest that you open a ticket with our support team. If you have forgotten or lost both the web login AND the cliadmin passwords, then there is no procedure that can be followed by a user.

We have found a solution : we changed the password of the admin accound (passwd admin) and were able to connect on the web interface.
